Car Insurance Volvo (Car Insurance). Best street bike for a beginner?

Best street bike for a beginner? I'm a guy, 5'9", around 140. I'm 19. I have friends that have bikes and have recommended the Ninja 250 or 650 to learn on, any other choices I could check out?

There's a whole world of other bikes, but you'd be hard pressed to beat the Ninja 250 as a First bike (not a beginners bike by any means, I ride one and have 20 years experience). I would also personally recommend the Ninja 250. Good choice! :) Actually, the ninja 250 is a great bike to learn on. It's not very heavy and easy to handle. if you want a really nice bike that you can learn on and then keep..the Honda 600RR is really nice as well. The Ninja 250 is a fantastic first bike as it is a highway capable machine but does not have too much power that can easily overwhelm a new rider. Suzuki SV650 is a great bike to learn on and it is also good after you learn, it s big enough to enjoy riding for many years after. Yo Aaron. I'm sean. Been riding a ninja 650r for a while now. Both bikes are really good to learn on! I really like the 650r tho, i think its better to learn on, besides its already a 2 seat-er ( Mine anyway). But, word of advice, you should get a used bike first (i recommend it). You're going to be very harsh on your first bike. Abusing the clutch. You might drop it once or twice, nothing serious but it does gets out of your hands sometimes. So you don't want a brand new bike. Something 2-5 years old, maybe even with a few scuffs and bruises already on it to learn on. Work your way up. 250 ninja is probably the best bike to learn on. Others to consider... Honda rebel 250, honda nighthawk 250. Or dual sports such as yamaha tw200 or 225, Kawasakli klr 250, suzuki dr200 honda crf 230L. Good luck. 250's are lots of fun and a great place to start. I bet you'll get the bug and want something bigger in a few months.

Volvo . When jump starting a car, why do you have to ground the non working car to a metal part of the body?

When jump starting a car, why do you have to ground the non working car to a metal part of the body? I just watched some how to jump start a car videos on youtube and they said that when connecting the jumper cables, when you connect the black part to the non working car, you connect it to the frame of the car or some metal part and not the negative on the battery I was wondering why? Because every time ive done it I always connect negative to negative. Is that wrong? I mean, to me it has worked before, so I dont understand. car insurance.

Volvo . driver side front wheel scrubbing sound?

driver side front wheel scrubbing sound? Any ideas what the issue is so I can attempt to fix my car without making to many guesses? I did not find a post similar to this one. 2001 Monte Carlo SS 3.8L The car appears to be having an issue on the driver side front wheel with a metallic scrubbing sound, it is not a chirping noise -Only notice the sounds at lower speeds, frequency appears to be too high to hear at higher speeds -forward and reverse directions cause the noise -The pitch of the sound increases and decreases with the speed -The sound occurrs whether the brakes are applied or not, sometimes applying the brakes causes the sound to be louder -Sound can not always be heard, it is noticed mostly when driving beside something that reflects the sound back at the driver such as a large curb -Sound will go away while swerving to the left, sound returns after swerving left -Bearings and Rotors were changed within the last year. -brakes function and slow the car as expected Any insight to this issue would be appreciated car insurance.

Volvo . How to Wire the Headlights on a 2001 Sable

Any replacements to the factory-installed headlights on the 2001 Sable can plug directly into the headlight wiring harness that feeds power to the headlight bulb, except for an upgrade with the aftermarket High Intensity Discharge (HID) headlight. HID headlights emit more light, use less power and last longer than the halogen headlights the Sable normally uses. They are expensive, however. As of November 2010, a pair of HID headlights runs about $100 dollars, although this price includes the extra wiring you need to install them. Expect the procedure to take no more than 30 minutes.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
HID installation kit
Latex gloves

Step by Step :
1
Turn off your Sable. Prop open the hood with the hood support rod.
2
Unplug the headlight wiring harness.
3
Pull off the weather rubber shroud from the rear of the headlight assembly.
4
Put on your latex gloves to prevent the oil in your fingers from damaging the headlight. Press in on the retaining clip securing the headlight in place. Pull out the headlight.
5
Insert the replacement headlight into the headlight assembly. Secure it in place with the retaining clip. Cover the headlight with the rubber shroud. Thread the socket of the HID headlight through the hole in the rubber shroud.
6
Mount the ballast that comes with the HID installation kit to the rear of the headlight assembly with the double-sided adhesive pads provided in the kit.
7
Plug the headlight wiring harness into the ballast. Plug the built-in wiring harness from the ballast into the socket of the HID headlight.

Volvo . How to Install a Retention Clip Headlight on a Mazda 3

A small but sturdy metal wire, called the retention clip, holds in place the Mazda 3's halogen headlight bulb. Headlights held in by retention clips are often called retention clip headlights. If the retention clip headlight on your Mazda 3 has burned out or broken, you can replace it yourself in under 10 minutes for each headlight assembly. Retention clips are cheap and easy to replace, they hold the headlight bulb steady, and they make changing a headlight bulb simple and straightforward.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Latex gloves

Step by Step :
1
Turn off the Mazda 3. Prop open the hood with the hood support rod.
2
Press in the side tabs of the headlight wiring harness. Pull out the headlight wiring harness from the headlight socket.
3
Pull off the rubber weather shroud from the rear of the headlight assembly.
4
Put on your latex gloves to prevent the oils from your fingers from damaging the headlight bulb.
5
Press inward on the metal retention clip to release it. Pull out the headlight bulb.
6
Insert the replacement bulb into the headlight assembly. Strap the retention clip over the base of the headlight bulb. Lock the retention clip into the socket that you released it from earlier when you pressed it inward. Cover the headlight bulb with the rubber weather shroud. Thread the socket on the rear of the headlight bulb through the hole in the rubber weather shroud. Reattach the wiring harness.

Introduction # • e « a for many people, getting a driver's license is an event that runs second only to getting a diploma or a marriage license. We study, practice, and take the test in a state of high anticipation that's marred only by the fear of failing and being "grounded" forever. Yet most of us succeed in passing and hop happily into our cars, headed for the freedom of the open road. Unfortunately, most of us don't know the first thing about the machines we're licensed to drive — and this can turn a ticket to freedom into a ticket to trouble. I'm not necessarily talking about physical danger. State motor vehicle bureaus have made fairly sure that, before we can get a driver's license, we know how to drive defensively and can handle a car under poor driving conditions. What I'm referring to is the kind of trouble that comes from depending on other people to care for and repair our vehicles. If you're like most people, you probably tend to drive around until something goes wrong and then incur the expense of replacing worn and burnt-out parts — or the entire engine — when low-cost, regular maintenance could have kept your wheels turning for a long time. About This Book Whether you're trying to cut expenses, are tired of being patronized, or have just fallen in love with your first car, this book tells you how your car works, what it needs in the way of tender loving care, and how to keep from getting ripped off if you have to entrust repairs to someone else. By handling the simple maintenance and tune-ups and being able to diagnose trouble and perform the less complex repairs yourself, you'll earn the respect of your family, your mechanic, and your car — and you'll feel pretty good about it! In this book, I introduce you to the wonders of the internal combustion engine and to the even more wondrous newfangled engines of the future. After you get familiar with the principal parts and systems involved, I gently lead you into basic maintenance and repair tasks that you can do yourself. Don't worry about getting in over your head. If a repair can get you into trouble if you attempt to do it yourself, I tell you how to be sure the work is done properly by a professional at a fair price. I also warn you when you should tackle a job only with an experienced friend or automotive teacher at your elbow. So don't chicken out on me! Start with the easy stuff and then take on the more challenging tasks. You'll love yourself for it, and your vehicle will love you, too. Believe me, I've been there....

Auto Repair For Dummies Hou) I Became Intimately \nVoiVed u/ith My Car (and Why fault Want to Bo It, Too) Before I moved to California, I was an ordinary urban cliff dweller: I had only a nodding acquaintance with cars. Ours was locked up in a garage, to be summoned forth by my husband for excursions to "the country"; otherwise, I used subways, buses, and taxis. All the maintenance on our car was done by the garage that housed it. My sole contribution to our automotive life was choosing the color whenever we bought a new vehicle, and my main purpose in getting a driver's license was so that I could go to the supermarket during our summers in the country or drive down to the lake for a swim. I rarely, if ever, drove in the city because doing so seemed a cross between foolishness and suicide. When we moved to California, I must confess that my enthusiasm for a life in the sun was considerably dampened by the knowledge that this would also include a life on the freeway, but then I began to sow my oats. It started with a solo marketing excursion, and then that marvelous feeling of freedom that

comes with sliding behind the wheel began to take hold. Before I knew it, I was looking for a car of my own. Because the family budget had been considerably strained by the move West, the best I could do was a six-year-old Mustang with more than 70,000 miles on it. A friend of mine who had grown up in Los Angeles — and was therefore a qualified automotive expert — checked out the car and pronounced it drivable. He said that it might need "a little work." We took it to a reliable mechanic, who checked it over, tuned it up, and told me that it was "a classic." Thus reassured, I drove the car to the Department of Motor Vehicles to regis ter it. I parked the car, turned off the ignition, locked it, and found that, sitting there in the middle of the parking lot, the car was singing! A bit puzzled, I rechecked the ignition and the radio, but everything was truly shut off. And still the car sang. By the time I returned, all was quiet. But that night, when I took the family out to dinner, old Tweety Bird began to sing again. Several weeks of filling and refilling the radiator, changing the coolant, putting gunk

in the radiator to block any leaks, and so on managed to reduce the singing somewhat. But when I found out, many dollars later, that all she had needed was a new $2 radiator cap, I was made abruptly aware of two things: v* Tweety was mine, and my responsibility. If she didn't work, I wasn't going to be able to, either. V0 It would be impossible to enter this symbiotic relationship properly if I didn't know anything about her, because the garage bills were going to send both of us down the drain. Introduction So I conned a friend of mine (who happened to have two sets of automotive tools) into taking an auto shop class with me at a local adult education center. I discovered that cars are pretty simple things to deal with. Instead of a bewildering array of weird metal objects and miles of hoses that threatened to blow up if I turned a screw in the wrong direction, I soon found that a car is just a series of simple Rube Goldberg mechanisms linked together (with a computer thrown in now and then that even professional mechanics need specialists to deal with). Most maintenance, tune-ups, and many repairs involve only a few, isolated gadgets, and cars are very good about sending out signals telling you clearly what's wrong — if you know how to hear, see, smell, or feel them. Before long, it was no longer enough to be able to communicate with a mechanic; I wanted to be the mechanic myself whenever possible. I learned that the best way to work on a vehicle is to handle it like a baby — take a firm grip on things and do the job without mincing around. Not only did I save money, but Tweety began running better, and I found that I was having fun! To share the good news with everyone else, I sat down and wrote the first edition of this book. I called it.4ufo Repair for Dummies because that's the only title that I would have been willing to take a chance on before I realized how easy this stuff really is. Doing it yourself can really pay off in terms of dollars and cents. The major difference between doing the work yourself and taking it to a professional is that professional mechanics often try the most potentially lucrative solution first. If that doesn't do it, they try the next thing, and continue to try things until they hit the right one. This method can cost you a bundle. On the other hand, when you do the diagnosing, you can try the cheaper solutions first. For example, if your engine has been overheating constantly, you replace the radiator cap, pressure-test the system, and check the coolant level and the thermostat before buying and installing a new water pump. And if it finally comes down to changing the pump, you try to find a rebuilt one and install it yourself (which is usually not difficult). The money you save is well worth the effort.
